Villa Nobile is an extraordinary property located in the heart of the Istrian peninsula, on the edge of the small village of Oprtalj, with magnificent views and a great atmosphere. The village dates back to the 12th Century and was known as a residence of feudal lords. It is a typical medieval centre with houses along cobbled narrow streets, a church in the centre and a wonderful old Venetian arched loggia with beautiful views. Only 300 metres away from the villa is a good local ''konoba'' serving traditional food such as gnocchi, pasta, minestrone and grilled meat. Next to it is a grocery store. The village has a little wine and prosciutto bar, where you can also purchase various typical Istrian products
The property has an interesting location between the two most famous Istrian hilltop towns of Motovun and Groznjan; while Motovun hosts an international film festival in July, Groznjan is a centre of art and music throughout the summer, when jazz and classical concerts intertwine with numerous solo or group art exhibitions. This part of Istria is also a well known truffle zone. In the restaurant Zigante, 5 minutes drive away from the villa, you can enjoy a cuisine based on truffles, recognised by international gastronomic guides. Zigante restaurant is not the only restaurant ranked highly in gastronomic guides - within the area of 10-20 km from the villa you will find an extremely good choice of restaurants: 'Marino' in Kremenje is 15 minutes, 'Barbacan' in Motovun 10 minutes, 'San Rocco', 'Astarea' and 'Morgan' in Brtonigla are 25 minutes. In Novigrad, a charming little town on the coast 30 km from the villa, there are numerous wine and coctail bars, boutiques and patisseries and excellent fish restaurants, among which 'Damir & Ornella' and 'Mandrac' are the most famous.
This luxurious villa that belonged to a family of lords was completely renovated in 2008 and now offers stylish accommodation for 12 people in 6 elegantly designed bedrooms. All these rooms have LCD satellite TV, safety deposit box as well as ensuite bathroom/wc or shower room/wc which guarantee your full comfort. The property is full air conditioned in all areas apart from the fitness area. Views of Oprtalj and the surrounding picturesque countryside spreads from each room, the garden and terraces. The best views are reserved for the 10m x 4m swimming pool, located on a spacious upper terrace with built in barbecue, table and chairs, loungers and shower. You enter the villa at this level which has a large fully equipped kitchen with cooker, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave; next to this is an open plan dining room and living room with satellite TV and comfortable seating. There is also a separate wc, and a double bedroom with ensuite shower room/wc (suitable for disabled people). On a lower level is a large indoor fitness area with stepper, bench and weights plus a Finnish sauna, steam bath and whirlpool - glass doors offer wonderful views of the countryside and open onto the lawned gardens with table and chairs. On the same level is a large dining room made in Istrian traditional style with a table for 12, a stone fireplace with barbecue/grill plus a separate wc.
On the first floor are three double bedrooms all with ensuite shower room/wc, and a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom/wc. On the top floor is the master double bedroom with ensuite bathroom/wc.
Maid service is included twice a week, with change of towels and sheets also twice a week. Laundry can be arranged and paid for locally.
